Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence Intensive Review

I must admit, no other skincare brand has made such a huge difference on my skin as much as SK-II did. When I finished my first bottle of the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence I was torn- either I was gonna part with my hard-earned moolah or settle for a less-than-stellar product that won't be as good as SK-II. I chanced upon the Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence on the internet as a possible SK-II dupe so I immediately got myself a bottle and tried it for myself. Have I finally found a less expensive dupe to the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence? Read on peeps!

Missha Time Revolution The First Treatment Essence Intensive

First lets start with the product info and ingredients:

One of Missha's most famous products, this miracle water essence contains 80% Fermented Yeast Concentrate (saccharomyces ferment filtrate), which absorbs into skin instantly, repairing and nourishing on cellular level. Niacinamide, a Vitamin B3 component, improves skin elasticity, enhances skin barrier function, and revives skin tone and texture for an overall brighter and clearer tone.

Skin is repaired, protected and hydrated, ready to absorb your next treatments. Many people claim that they see results in as little as two weeks after using.

Ingredients: Saccharomyces ferment Filtrate, Bigida Ferment Lysate, Propanediol, Niacinamide, Polyquaternium -51, Ulmus Davidiana Root Extract, Betaine, Amaranthus Caudatus Seed Extract, Pirper Methysticum Leaf/Root/Stem Extract, Beta vulgaris (Beet) Root extract, Phellodendron Amurense Bark Extract, Cassia Alata Leaf Extract, Hydrogenated Lecithin, Sodium Hyaluronate, Pentylene Glycol, Water, Trehalose, Disodium EDTA, Hydrolyzed Corn Starch, Adenosine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Butylene Glycol, Clycerin, Raffinose, Tromethamine, Acetic Acid, Lactic Acid, 1, 2 - Hexanediol, Caprytyl Glycol, Hexapeptide - 9 Phenoxyethanol, Potassium Sorbate.

Now let's compare it to the beloved but expensive SK-II:

My empty 75ml bottle of the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence beside the 130ml Missha Time Revolution First Treatment Essence bottle. The SK-II bottle is made with thick frosted glass material while the Missha one is made with a thick sturdy plastic material.

My Review
This product is not meant to be used alone since it is an essence. My skin is pretty sensitive so I skip the toner and use this after cleansing/washing then I apply sunblock over it during daytime or my favorite serum/moisturizer over it during night time. The texture is very watery and has quite an unpleasant scent like the SK-II one since it contains a fermented ingredient. Color-wise and texture-wise it is very similar to the SK-II one. There is a difference with regards to the amount and type of fermented product used- SK-II contains 90% Galactomyces Ferment Filtrate while Missha contains 80% Saccharomyces Ferment Filtrate but the Missha one also contains a host of other skin-loving ingredients that SK-II does not have. The effects on my skin after 3 weeks of use is very similar though! It refines, smooths and balances my skin like no product ever did. I would usually have tiny almost invisible bumps on my forehead/near my t-zone area but this went away when I used SK-II and now the Missha one does the same thing. It's really hard to show in photos what a difference these two has done for my skin but it just gives me that extra confidence to not wear base makeup everyday. I only have to apply concealer where needed when I need to look extra-polished. I fell in love with the SK-II Facial Treatment essence and I am so happy that I can now get the same effect from a product that is more affordable. I have combination skin that tends to be on the sensitive/acne prone side and this product just calms it down and balances it like no other! If you're curious about why people are raving about the SK-II Facial Treatment Essence then this is a more affordable dupe that has the same benefits! It is a MUST HAVE for me since I am a strong advocate of investing in quality skincare products, supplements and treatments. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade their skincare routine!

Take care! xx
